Some people hated me because of what I am, but other people love me for what I am
They say I’m too ambitious! Can’t be satisfied for where I am. Doesn’t know where to put myself. They hated me that even though I am not doing anything or saying anything, they always have to say against me.
Is it bad to dream for something? To crave for progress? To love challenge?
Then, I found them. Actually, my Tatay found me first. He was the one who believed in me from the very beginning. Eventually bringing out the best in me for every task I have to do. I earned their trust and respect.
I can’t help myself but ask Tatay why did he trust me from the very beginning. It’s because of passion and my hunger for challenge. The reason why some people hate me even now. But I am glad I didn’t change anything to please them because lots of worthy people respect me for what I am and what I can do for them as a member of the team.
The problem now is, I easily get bored… When I successfully finished one difficult task, I long for a more difficult one. I don’t want being stuck with the same level. Bad isn’t it? Am I the only one?

More painful for her.
The man started to smile and laugh for nothing. He likes the girl but he knows he can never have her.But for him, as long as the girl is within his sight, she’s his’. He’s jealous with the boy.

Sayounara Japan, Musta Pinas?
After more than three months of stay in Japan, I am now back again to my all-year round summer and polluted country. Its nice being home again when I think of the times I will be spending with my loved ones. Life in the Phil is always like a vacation, so relaxing… You don’t have to rush.
But I am only few hours being in the Phils, I already misses being in Japan. Why? Because there really Filipino traits that makes you feel insulted being a Filipino. One of these is the way you serve with other people. When you are working as a security guard, you have to ensure the security within your vicinity. It is your work and you get paid because of that. But why do other people working in the airport when they’ve found out you came from other countries will secretly approach you and whisper ‘pameryenda lang po’. I really want to shout at that man’s face but I just tried to quickly pick up my things and never look at him and leave that place. I am not madamot or anything, when I know I should give, I will but this kind of people are the people downgrading the Filipino values. I work so hard abroad to earn whatever I have, if its called luck then be it but what I am sure about is, I worked it all by myself and with all my best and I didn’t ask other people for some sort of alms to earn a little bit more. Life abroad is not all about milk and honey. Its about surviving and winning by yourself. But if you’ll learn how to value your work not only with the money you are earning but also with what you contributed with the company you are working with, you’ll just be surprise with the fruits of your hard work and perseverance. I think, that’s the value of working… And I am wondering if when will Filipinos realize that and to ask for ‘ambon’ of other people’s fruit of hard work.
Just speaking my piece of thought…

Mommy and Angel Goes Swimming
I don’t know if its just a coincident or it has been a habit for our family to go swimming every time somebody will leave. It’s like our own
way of telling our daughter that Mommy or Daddy has to go somewhere to go which we can’t tell her directly. Saying goodbye to your child is one of the hardest thing to say. Since swimming is Angela’s favorite activity aside from eating, this act like a bribe for her.
So, yesterday we went out swimming. Goodness the weather didn’t make it hard for us. Two days ago, it was raining the whole in Davao but yesterday’s weather is just perfect for swimming. It wasn’t too hot but from time to time a cloud came over us to give us some shade.
And as usual, Angela just love playing with waters. Splashing and tapping it like a pillow. But I also teach her basic for swimming. I’ve
found out that it’s hard to teach a child to swim especially for someone who thinks water is like a toy. She loves playing with water but can’t trust the water to hold her for floating. However, after giving her some floaties on her both arms, little by little she started to let herself to float and paddle her arms and feet to go wherever she wants. It’s just a simple swimming but as a proud mommy, I always have my hands to clap every time she managed to reach the edge of the pool with her dog-style swimming.

Going Back to Japan - Apprehensions and Enthusiasm
April fool’s Day will bring me back to Japan. It’s not a joke, for sure. I feel like a rock right now that I can’t feel any excitement or unhappiness. Maybe the two emotions collided that my heart can’t determine what’s what.
Almost a month ago when I was informed that I will be going back in Japan, I was filled with excitement. I really want to see gain the cherry blossoms as it bloom. Buy stuffs that I can’t find here in Davao like the sesame seeds salad dressing, mold and mildew cleaner and others. I told myself before that I just want to be there even for a week so I can bring home those stuffs. And of course, to be with my friends.
But now that I am about to leave, my heart is missing that enthusiasm. I am full of worries. Going back there means leaving my Angel again. I want to help Rommel but I can only help him by going away with them. I wish I can take them with me. I can’t even think clearly… just letting myself go with the flow.

Straighten Your Hair Without Chemicals
I’ve always been a short-hair girl because my hair seems to be as hard-headed as me. It always looks dull and tangled. I remember my Mom with beautiful long hair before, she knew that I envied her so what she did was she gave me money so I can have some proper hair treatment. Sadly, those treatments were temporary and good for only few days. That’s why after growing my hair few inches below my ears, I definitely go to the parlor for a shorter hair cut. I am also the type that loves just wash and wear routine so I tried using instant hair make-over treatments and as expected, it just worsen my hair condition.
Now, I am trying my luck to have that straight, shiny long hair. Just for me to say that once in my life, I’ve experienced to have that classy lady look simply because of my hair. Needles to say, hair is the crowning glory for women.
While looking for something useful for my hair, I’ve browsed the web and found some natural hair treatments. Egg and mayonnaise are good hair moisturizers. You can rub a beaten egg into your hair and leave for 30 minutes before your regular shower at least once a week. For mayonnaise, do the same step with egg but use mayonnaise instead. And remember to wash your hair thoroughly unless you don’t want your hair to smell like sandwich.
Below is another natural solution for straightening hair, I’ve got this from wikihow.com.
- Wash and dry your hair as normal this is really important. Really! This is an optional tip but is popular in naturally straightening hair: before shampooing, spray your hair with about 1/3rd cup of milk. This keeps your hair straight and silky.
- Allow your hair to dry naturally, or pat with towel. Your hair should be almost dry when you begin.
- Part hair into three, one section on either side and leaving the bottom section loose. Gather up the two sides and clip them on top of your head.
- Follow the brush (with your dryer) to and fro in even motions down your hair as you straighten each section.
- Part the sections again, pulling down a new section to be straightened and proceed as above, making sure you keep the dryer moving.
- Work your way up the layers until all the sections are dried and straightened. If you like, you can use a flat iron afterwards.
- To curl the ends for a polished look, take your brush and pull the ends taut. Finish your styling with a blast of cool air.

Edu Manzano Has Totally Replaced Kris Aquino as Game K N B’s Game Master
Honestly, when I first watched Edu Manzano as the new game master for Game Ka Na Ba? I thought he’s so-trying hard to replace Kris Aquino for the Philippine’s First Highest-Rating Game Show. As I remember correctly, he was the dreary host of the Philippine franchised ‘Weakest Link’. He ended up as one of the weakest link as the show didn’t last long.
Later on, he had proven his talent and capability to be the GKNB’s host. From Kris’ tactless remarks, brushing hair gesture and showing off her designer’s gowns/dresses Edu re-create GKNB’s scene. The interview portion for the contestants is now a bit longer and turns it into contestant-getting-to-know-stand-up-show. The supposed to be tension for the show is lessened as the contestants themselves are sportily interacting with Edu and giggles with the show’s funny sound effects. The energetic dancing during the beginning of show changed GKNB’s image to a not-just-a-plain game show.
Game Ka Na Ba was also the bridge for Edu as he popularized the Polish song with the ‘Papaya Dance’. The dance craze has come its way to be the new ‘Macarena’. Even the US Ambassador Kristie Kenney did the ‘Papaya Dance’ when she visited the Umagang Kay Ganda. And just recently US’ morning show hosts, Good Morning America, have just joined the dance craze.

An Angel’s Birthday
It’s my Angel’s 5th birthday today! Happy birthday baby! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.
Yesterday was their recognition day; she was the Nursery class’ 3rd honor. She also got the Best in Math and Most Respectful awards. I know it’s too early to brag that my daughter is indeed smart because of these early achievements but as a Mom I really can’t help it but to be really proud of my Angel.
She really has a good memory. I was shocked when we were reading our usual before bed-time story and she remembered the word ‘odd’ from the previous stories we’ve read. She first looked at the table of contents and I naturally look for the word ‘odd’ in the list but she pointed out a story title and turns the book pages to it. At the bottom of that story, there’s the word ‘odd’. I envy her for having such a fresh memory.

Philippine Muddy Politics
You might be thinking that this post’s category is misspelled; it’s purposely spelled as PUTIKlika to join the endless campaign for the country’s political environment. I know I am not the first and absolutely not the last Filipino to post about their frustrations and distrusts to our government’s leader, system and policy.
The election scenario always gives me headaches and goosebumps. The physical environment is tolerable, scattered poster of politicians everywhere but what are annoying are the endless TV commercials of politicians who instantly turned out as worst actors/actresses. And of course, the unbelievable courage of stars like Richard Gomez, Ceasar Montano and the like to run as senators! There were also hypocrite people who let ‘money movers’ to manipulate them and use their popularity to run as a candidate. So, frustrating! And my heart was broken when I’ve found out some of the unworthy people won in the election.
Just recently, Jun Lozada became a ‘hero’ because of his testimony about ZTE Broadband deal. Aside from the shocking million dollars supposed-to-be commission of some government officials and First Gentleman Arroyo, another stain to GMA’s administration was the PNP’s procedure as they ‘protect’ Lozada. Lozada accused the PNP for kidnapping as it tried to protect the interest of the people of Malacanang. It has been few weeks that the news always contains ‘call for truth’ rally and asking GMA to step down. Needless to say, it seems Lozada’s popularity easily fades. Filipino got tired of asking GMA to step down when GMA remains ‘makapal ang mukha’ and to insists that she will only vacate the presidential position after the 2010 election. Well, we have to admit that should she vacate the position, Noli De Castro isn’t capable enough to run the country. And there’s no ample time for the next president to properly stabilize his/her administration since less than two years from now is the National Election.
Speaking of 2010 Election, aren’t some politicians too early to have their advertisements? Although indirectly campaigning for the election but they clearly wants the people to be familiar with their faces and names! Grrr! They really take politics as business! Do you know the businessmen slogan that goes something like ‘a business with NO SIGN is a sign of NO BUSINESS at all’? Well, do check out our country’s politicians. They surely know how to do their business, huh?!?
I hope every Filipino will really think about their children’s future on the next National Election because I am sure they are as tired as I am every time they attempt to oust the President. Let’s all cross our fingers!

Worst TV Show Ever?
I found this youtube video through timog.com. The TV show’s name is Moment of Truth. Some says it’s the worst reality TV show ever. The concept is just to tell the truth whether or whoever you’ll hurt. The higher the price money, the bigger you’ll lose your dignity or your loved ones.
As the Philippine TV’s trend nowadays is to franchised TV shows from abroad and remakes it with the Filipino touch. I wonder, if the two quarrelling TV station will ever think of franchising this? Should one of them will do have the rights to air it in local TV, I suggests their contestants should be the government officials. Wouldn’t it’ll be that great? At least, the TV show’s dignity will be uplifted here in our country. Hehehe. The big question is, are government officials ready to be true for the sake of money?

Pinoy Big Brother Teen Plus
I have been a big brother fan during the first PBB celebrity edition. Though I wasn’t able to watch it in TV every night, before I start to work I always check the updates in the internet. I am one of those people who were so kilig with Biance and Zanjoe. Then the teen edition came, I get so annoyed yet entertained with teen’s present generation. But I wasn’t able to continue following the PBB Teen happenings when I went abroad. And so, here it comes again – with major changes with Kuya’s house, the teens from different places are doing their best to catch the viewers’ heart.
Each 14 teen housemates have his/her own story to tell and definitely they all possess unique charms to be the future ‘crush ng bayan’. Among these teens and after scanning their background through the PBB website, my bets are Ejay and Priscilla.
Ejay was the first one who entered Kuya’s house. He’s wearing the tarzan outfit that time and when his fellow housemates came in, unfortunately were talking in English. Some of them where half-Pinoys and knows few Tagalog and most of them came from rich family who have been used to speaking in English. Ejay kept silent and some of the teens asked him why, he shyly answered, he can only speak Tagalog. He came from a typical town in Oriental Mindoro. Being promdi, although he understands English, he is still not used in using in casual conversation.
Priscilla, on the other hand, came from Mindanao but studying in Ateneo de Manila. She won several beauty pageants. But what keeps her stands out among her fellow teens is that she’s deaf. She only read people’s lip as they talk for her to understand what they are saying. Despite this disability, she managed to live a normal life. During Kuya’s first greeting to the housemates, Priscilla looks pitiful as she cluelessly watched her fellow housemates’ reaction to what Kuya is saying. And Kuya didn’t let Priscilla to feel discouraged with this, for him to be understood by the deaf beauty titlist, he showed his lips to Priscilla while in the confession room. She’s the first housemate to see Kuya’s lips!
Well, let’s just wait if one of these two will emerge as PBB Big Winner.

The First Shop Of Coffee Prince
I definitely don’t drink coffee because it always makes my heart out of beat but The First Shop Of Coffee Prince is definitely must-see Korean teleserye to take out one’s everyday stress. GMA 7 aired the teleserye on a very late schedule and changed its title to Coffee Prince, it still caught the heart of many Filipinos because of its cute stars. The plot is quite not-so-ordinary but it is indeed a variety to see a Korean actress in men’s outfit and still shine as a princess.
A synopsis from wikipedia.org:
Choi Han Kyul, played by Gong Yoo, is the cocky son of a rich family who runs a food corporation. He doesn’t believe in love and certainly doesn’t want to get married despite his family’s requests. On the other hand, Go Eun Chan, played by Yoon Eun Hye, is a 24-year old tomboyish female who gets mistaken as a guy quite often. She takes up every job possible - waitress, food deliverer, etc - and has the responsibility of taking care of her mother and younger sister. Eun Chan accidentally meets Han Kyul twice, once on a delivery and once during a robbery. During the robbery, Eun Chan’s delivery motorcycle ends up being damaged. Han Kyul, not knowing that Eun Chan is actually a girl, decides to hire Eun Chan as a false “lover” so that he can escape the blind dates arranged by his grandmother. Meanwhile, Han Kyul’s cousin, Choi Han Seong, is an established music producer and his ex-girlfriend Han Yoo Joo, who Han Kyul secretly loved for nine years, is a famous artist who studied in New York. The two were lovers for about 8 years but their relationship ended when Yoo Joo broke up with Han Seong. Two years after they separated their paths cross again when Yoo Joo returns to Seoul.
After getting an ultimatum from his grandmother, Han Kyul takes over a run-down old coffee shop, later renamed Coffee Prince, to prove his ability, both to his grandmother and Yoo Joo. In order to attract female customers, he only hires good looking male employees. In a struggle with money, Eun Chan, whom Han Kyul has already mistaken as a boy, hides her gender identity to get a job at Coffee Prince. Soon feelings start to spark between Eun Chan and Han Kyul. Because he’s unaware that Eun Chan is a girl, Han Kyul starts to question his sexuality.

Angel Locsin as LOBO
I know this is corny but I really like the ABS-CBN’s teleserye LOBO by Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual. I don’t find Angel Locsin that attractive at first but now, me and my husband both has a crush with Angel! She had a really sexy body and what makes her so-attractive is that she doesn’t flaunt it all the way! Other young and sexy stars that pose in front of the camera wearing barely anything at all, Angel keeps her ‘wholesome’ image.
Many had criticized her when she made an unexpected career move as she transferred to ABS-CBN. Some of her Kapuso fans turned her back on her thinking that her fame had ended. But Angel’s talent is not beyond what TV station she belonged. She definitely proves her critics wrong because as the LOBO TV series goes on, her versatility as an actress is clearly and visibly enhanced. And Angel’s fever just not simply ends; she’s still the most sought after celebrity in the Philippines. You can check the billboards around you if you have doubts.
I envied her sexiness especially when she woke up the morning after she had her first transformation into a wolf. The scene was a bit dark but the curves on her body were really accentuated.
Below were excerpts from Wikipedia.com about LOBO’s story.
The plot revolves around young lovers Lyka Raymundo and Noah Ortega. Lyka is a young woman aspiring to be a fashion designer and is currently working as a fashion assistant in the House of Elle. Her decision to pursue the arts is frowned upon by her Tita Clara Rivero because it according to her, it is not a practical choice.
Lyka and Noah are childhood friends but they were separated from each other. Years later, their paths shall cross when Noah became a second lieutenant of the Phillipine Army. During a crucial mission, he saved Don Manolo Sebastian and became involved in the battle between the Luna and the Waya.
Now Lyka is working under the House of Elle, as Lady Elle’s assistant. She has been accepted into the job as Lady Elle thinks Lyka is their last hope: “Ang Huling Bantay”. Lyka meets Noah, Lady Elle’s bodyguard and driver. Little did she know that he is actually her childhood friend, “JayJay” whom she thought was long dead.
The blossoming romance between the two is hindered by the presence of Gabrielle Dizon and Anton Rivero. Gabrielle is a deep-penetration agent who attempts to distract Noah while Anton is in love with Lyka and will do anything to prove his love.
Lobo borrowed the mythology of Nine-tailed fox from other Asian countries. There are two opposing groups in the story-the Luna and the Waya. The members of the Luna organization have a grudge against the werewolves while the Waya are the protectors of the lobo. The Waya are protectors of the werewolves and they want the lobo to co-exist harmoniously with human beings.

Sex Volunteers
Everyday news here in the Philippines has always something about rape incidents. But rape or even sexual harassments issues always pertains to ‘men’ as the culprit. No offense to all the feminists out there. But have you ever heard about women looking for male sex volunteers? I was also shocked when I read about it…
Here’s some excerpt from The Japan Times Online - Modern Japanese women: dealing with sex, lies and the dried-flower syndrome:
Who wants to be a woman in Japan? Misery can’t get much worse than the sexless relationships, dreary marriages, loneliness, patriarchal blues and stressed out women portrayed in these riveting interviews. These ordinary women, and one rather different man, tell it like it is and force us to reconsider contemporary Japan and its modern pathologies.
Finding the right lover is not so easy, but we learn that at least women can avail themselves of a clinic that offers them intimate encounters with sex volunteers. Women can select their volunteers from a catalog brimming with intimate details, and, yes, size does seem to matter. The clients say they are grateful for the service while there appears to be no shortage of male volunteers; money isn’t everything.
Misa confesses she wishes her husband’s mistress was much younger or at least a sex worker, saying, “This is a pride thing, I know, but I couldn’t get over the fact that she was not a pro and was almost the same age as me.” And so in her prime she resigns herself to a sexless marriage, a bleak trudge through life shared with someone she can no longer love.
We also learn why, in dealing with personal problems, Japanese prefer fortune tellers to psychiatrists. Kawakami writes: “If you say you are going to counseling, it sounds like you have a mental problem. But if you are going to have your fortune told or a purification ritual done, there is no social stigma attached.” And, if you need a fail-safe reason to dump a butthead guy, nothing beats fate!”

Mesiodens –perhaps a tooth nightmare
I have planned to have my teeth re-structured since I got back here in Davao. I am guilty of not properly taking care of my teeth when I was young; I just realized the importance of my teeth lately. Last January, I had three teeth extracted. Quite plenty? Those were lower molars that have been decayed for years! And now, I decided to consult an orthodontist for braces. I really don’t have a good set of teeth; most of them were not aligned and this is one of my insecurities.
As a requirement before the placement of braces, I had undergone two x-ray procedures. And while waiting for the dentist’s go signal, I am already dreaming of my well-structured teeth. But worst thing happened – through the x-ray result it has been found that I have a supernumary tooth called mesiodens.
A mesiodens is the most common supernumary (extra) tooth. It is located in the maxilla in the midline (hence the special name which means “middle tooth”). They can be well formed or just little clumps of tooth like stuff. A related phenomenon is the odontoma. They are often discovered on a routine x-ray or perhaps if the teeth are not erupting in a normal manner. (Source: http://cyberdentist.blogspot.com/2007/01/mesiodens-or-extra-tooth.html)
The cause of mesiodentes is not fully understood, although proliferation of the dental lamina and genetic factors have been implicated. Mesiodentes can cause delayed or ectopic eruption of the permanent incisors, which can further alter occlusion and appearance. It is therefore important for the clinician to diagnose a mesiodens early in development to allow for optimal yet minimal treatment.
Treatment options may include surgical extraction of the mesiodens. If the permanent teeth do not erupt in a reasonable period after the extraction, surgical exposure and orthodontic treatment may be required to ensure eruption and proper alignment of the teeth. In some instances, fixed orthodontic therapy is also required to create sufficient arch space before eruption and alignment of the incisor(s). Early diagnosis allows the most appropriate treatment, often reducing the extent of surgery, orthodontic treatment and possible complications. (Source: http://www.cda-adc.ca/jcda/vol-69/issue-6/362.html)
Being ignorant and having these kinds of tooth abnormalities, I personally encourage you to have your teeth x-rayed and consult your dentist!
